Clos Bellane Cotes du Rhone Village Valréas 2018
Grapes: 50% Syrah, 50% Grenache
The Southern Rhone is one of my favorite regions in the world for wine. Primarily for the volume of reliably value wines that you can find. The wines are mostly blends (“GSM” Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre") are the three most common varietals used. there are 21 sanctioned varieties. This 50/50 blend is comes from one the highest elevation and coolest climate section of the Southern Rhone. Its certified organic and certified delicious. Medium body, vibrant fruit and spice.

Grapes: 81% Zinfandel, 6% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah, 3% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, 2% Barbera 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
While technically a blend, Zinfandel is the hero here. This wine is a celebration of Zin grapes from some of the best regions and oldest dirt in California: Paso Robles, Alexander Valley, Napa, Sonoma, etc. Thanks to the unique blend, the wine is layered with complexity and different characteristics - each person will experience this wine in a different way and thats whats so cool about it. Objectively, its medium to full body and has a powerful ABV at 15.2 %.

Long Meadow Ranch Farmstead Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Grapes: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
There’s no denying that some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Napa Valley. The only problem is that it tends to come with a hefty price tag. So its not easy finding Napa Cab at a traditional entry-level price point. With that said, we searched hard for something approachable, and we found it in this Farmstead. The grapes are sourced from organic vineyards. On the palate its berries, cocoa and balanced tannin. Easy to see why this is one of our best selling wines.
Masseria Surani Primitivo di Manduria 2017
Grapes: 100% Primitivo
Not familiar with Primitivo? Thats OK! There are hundreds of grape varietals in Italy. This one is somewhat related to Zinfandel and the flavor profile is similar as well. Dry, full bodied, light tannin, soft finish.
Mendel Malbec
Grapes: 100% Malbec 2017
Malbec is not the first wine I typically turn to. It’s generally a little too oaky and rustic for me. But this particular wine has changed my mind of what Malbec can taste like: elegant, refined, almost like a Bordeaux-style blend: Dark fruit, minerality, Cassis. It’s big, but silky soft. A great mid-tier priced wine!
